The Janus Academy Society was established in Calgary in 1997 and operates as an accredited, independent, non-profit school to meet the unique education needs of children and youth with autism.
“We have worked with Rick Laycock and Davis, Daignault, Schick & Co. (“DDS”) since we began as a very small school of eight students, until today where we currently have 46 students. DDS has performed all our audits and has prepared statements to meet our Alberta Education requirements each year.
DDS has been a valuable asset to us and assisted in the growth of our organization by providing us with recommendations and guidance to our Board of Directors on budgeting, strengthening of internal controls, ensuring directors understand their roles and mandates, dealing with Alberta Education’s administration and heading our annual meetings to discuss and analyze our audited financial statements.
DDS also identified a GST rebate for which we were able to go back a number of years and collect money.
